These motorcycle pedicabs were made in USA
1907. If you made them as motorcycles now there would probably need to be a
crash cage in front of the passenger seat.
It would be a lot easier to make them as bicycles
limited to 20mph. You would have to use a high wattage
motor to move the 5-600lb total combined weight up a steep hill with a fixedgear
drive.
Hubmotors
would be a waste of money and added weight, because they require more power
than properly geared motors to climb steep hills with.
Using Ackerman
steering would be less likely to to have problems in cornering at even
slow speeds.
